Consciousness Creating Matter

I have found this statement seems to cause a lot of problems. It is proving to be an impediment to opening up to some of the ideas that I am putting forth here. Let me see if I can help explain this a bit.

The teaching that I’ve gotten basically puts forth the idea that there was a Big Bang. Shortly thereafter the universe rapidly expanded and comprised a mist of energy particles which, when allowed to cool down, coalesced into heavier elements, atoms, molecules, basic enzymes, cells, etc. Somewhere in this, apparently random, coalescing of particles, consciousness popped up or was injected into this. I’ve always had a lot of trouble with this concept. After looking around for answers to this dilemma I finally found one in an unusual place.

During the 70s there were a lot of New Age authors and I did my share of exploring this realm. I realized that many of the people writing at the time were referencing Jane Roberts and Seth, a channeler and a spirit being. Now, while I didn’t put a whole lot of faith, if you will, in such things, I couldn’t deny that what Seth was saying was quite consistent and really did help to explain much of what I could not. I’ll try to boil it down as best I can.

Seth says we choose to come into this existence from a “higher plane.” It’s a plane which we can’t comprehend and have no memory of, but from this plane we choose to come into this physical existence to learn; to learn what it is to be rich and to be poor, to be a Nazi and a Jew, to experience love, hate, pain and joy. So imagine each individual as the fingers of a hand; each finger appears independent and yet it is connected to a greater whole.

This physical reality in which we appear to exist is a simple set of rules; beautifully consistent, perfectly logical and readily demonstrable throughout our known universe. How we interpret that is another question. Just as our ancestors looked up at the stars and interpreted them in ways that seem alien to us now with our far greater knowledge; so our scientists of future generation will look back at our interpretation of science and, perhaps, wonder what we were thinking. Either way, physical reality will remain unchanged.

Science now knows that every atom appears as a particle in very high-speed motion, vibrating close to the speed of light and never coming to rest. Again, the so-called particles agglomerate into atoms, molecules, etc. and what we see are these collections. Now the only way that we have any interaction at all with these particles is through our senses: seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling, and further processing them through our bodies into our brains, into what we will call our mind or consciousness.

After we die what remains of our existence is what we will term the soul. This is the never-ending part of ourselves, the part we inhabit in this higher plane. It retains the experiences we gather in this physical lifetime, and though it appears take place over time, the entire thing takes place in the same instant.

Now, none of this is provable or readily demonstrable and yet stands up to the rigors of our scientific method and helps to explain many of the anomalies so prevalent in other cosmologies.

I would invite any challenges,  or better yet  give me an explanation  that works better  and I’ll accept  it .

Water – A True Miracle

I hadn’t intended to start this blog with a discussion of water but I recently saw several references this molecule and it’s connection to life and the Synergetics geometry we are espousing here, so I am taking a little detour from my original plan, if there is such a thing.

The first reference was a documentary film on the fact that science now basically agrees that water is the only requirement for life. It’s the only thing that is essential. Not energy, though water requires energy. Life cannot exist without water. It’s no mere coincidence that water has such an important place when you consider the fact that water alone of all of the molecules which can exist as liquids, is the only one which gets less dense as it freezes. Ice floats. The significance becomes apparent when we realize that once water freezes over it effectively insulates itself and retards further crystallization. In other words it is very difficult for a body of water to freeze solid which would presumably terminate whatever life may exist. Handy if you are trying to keep evolution going for a few million years.

Liquid water exists at a very wide range of temperatures and pressures and life has been found in deep trenches in the oceans with no light, having evolved in an environment previously thought unsupportive of life. Now, it is also no coincidence that the water molecule H2O is, geometrically, a slightly splayed tetrahedral shape which helps explain some of the other unique characteristics of water.

Spiral Dynamics

One of the later influences in my research came from Spiral Dynamics and while some of the concepts are controversial I think the model proposed by Beck and Cowan may suit our purposes. One of the reasons many of these competing theories have trouble getting accepted is that, while they all have concepts to contribute, they are lacking a coherent focus and none of them can stand on their own. As we so often do, we look at pieces and try to divine the “big picture”.

I believe that by applying Synergetics’ 4 dimensional framework to Spiral Dynamics we can, perhaps bring a portion of the spectrum of human consciousness into focus. For now, if you’re interested, just look over the basic meme colors and the idea of “second-tier thinking”. Specifically, I see Synergetics being able to incorporate the concept of second tier thinking with Holons to give a means of, not quantifying, but evaluating choices. To make it easier to envision real choices and not have to rely on second-hand sources.

Everyone has his or her own window to the Divine; for some it’s a stained glass window in a cathedral, for some it’s an electron microscope, for some it’s a blank canvas or sheet of paper or a stage but, we’re all looking at the same thing.

Spirituality

At the root of this work is my own attempt to resolve the extremely analytical portion of my brain with another level, which I have long recognized but had some trouble understanding. I found the key I needed in Richard Buckminster Fuller’s  No More Second Hand God in which he posits that we make our own environment and must work to understand how to utilize this environment to our collective benefit. I believe Fuller gave us some answers which allow us to link Spirituality with Science. Many of the concepts previously considered out of the scientific realm (Accupuncture, Homeopathy, Spiritual Healing, Zero Point Energy) may now find new bases for acceptance within the Synergetic realm. Additionally, I have seen within this Synergetic, 4 dimensional system, many Spiritual concepts and icons. Images clearly related to The Tree of Life, Star of David, Crucifix, DNA come up frequently and may allow further clues to how this great puzzle fits together.

We would also like to note that all of the concepts presented here are in complete agreement with the realms presented to us by Jane Roberts via the Seth books which influenced such modern day Gurus as Deepak Chopra and Louise Haye.

Now, some may question whether it makes any sense to attempt “figure out” the Universe. Why not just accept it the way it is? Well, some day I may get there but, for now, I will repeat the quote by an Ultra-Orthodox Jew who was a researcher in genetic engineering. When asked if his religion and profession weren’t at odds, he said someting like, “If God hadn’t wanted me to figure this out he wouldn’t have put it in front of me. He knows me.”

I like that.

C’mon in, take a look around.
